Your parents

See whether a parent has said yes, what they can see, and send a request to another parent.

On this page
  1. What your parents can see
  2. Is my account active?
  3. Add a parent

The Parents part of Settings shows who has said yes to your account. You can also ask another parent or guardian.

What your parents can see

At the top, TutorCat explains it:

Both parents count equally. Either one confirming consent is enough. Each can see your sessions and set screen-time limits, except when you tell us someone is hurting you. That stays private, to keep you safe.

A parent who has said yes can also see your wellbeing check-ins. For other serious worries, like wanting to hurt yourself, a parent may be told so they can help. See "If you're worried or upset".

The Parents settings, with the privacy line and consent active
  1. 1: What stays private
  2. 2: A parent said yes
  3. 3: Add another parent

Is my account active?

  • "A parent said yes" with Consent active means you're all set.
  • A request you sent from this device shows the parent's email with Sent. If they can't find the email, tap Resend.

Add a parent

You can add a second parent, for example if you live between two homes.

  1. Tap + Add another parent (or + Add a parent if there's no one yet).
  2. Type their email in Parent or guardian's email.
  3. Under Relationship, tap Mother, Father, Guardian or Other.
  4. Tap Send request. Or tap Cancel.
Adding a second parent: email, relationship and Send request
  1. 1: Their email
  2. 2: Who they are
  3. 3: Send the request

TutorCat emails them a link to say yes. Either parent saying yes is enough.
