#Why won't TutorCat just give me the answer?

Because you learn more by working it out. TutorCat shows the steps first. Open a step, then tap Got it ✓ or Explain more, and you can unlock the full answer whenever you want.

#I tapped Locked. Why didn't I get the answer?

You haven't earned it yet. The tutor tells you what to do next. Usually it's: open a step and read it, then tap Got it ✓ or Explain more.

#What if I don't understand a step?

Tap Explain more. The tutor explains it a different way, with a smaller example. You can also type your own question in the box any time.

#Can my parents read my chats?

A parent who has said yes to your account can see your sessions and your wellbeing check-ins, except when you tell us someone is hurting you. That stays private, to keep you safe. For other serious worries, like wanting to hurt yourself, a parent may be told so they can help.

#Who else can read my chats?

The TutorCat team doesn't read your conversations, photos or check-ins. Their tools only show counts, like how many sessions there were.

#What if I'm feeling sad, scared or unsafe?

Tell TutorCat in a chat or in a wellbeing note. It will reply kindly and show free helplines for your country. Please also tell a grown-up you trust. If you're in danger right now, call your local emergency number.

#Why do I need a parent to say yes?

In many countries, the law says a parent must agree before young people use apps like this. The age depends on where you live. It's the same for everyone your age.

#My parent didn't get the email. What now?

Ask them to check their spam folder. The link works for 7 days. You can send it again: on the waiting screen tap Edit request, or later go to Settings, then Parents, and tap Resend.

#Why can't I see the microphone?

Voice may be off for your account. It's often off for younger students. You can type your question or snap a photo instead.

#Is my voice recording saved?

No. TutorCat turns it into text and then throws the recording away.

#What happens to my homework photos?

The tutor uses them to help you. TutorCat deletes them by itself after 90 days.

#Why did my streak go back to zero?

A streak counts days in a row with a session. If you miss a day, it starts again. Your best streak is still shown on Vitals.

#How do I earn more points?

Work through steps, and finish lessons in Explore. Steps you work through earn more than answers.

#Why does it say "That's it for today"?

A parent set a daily limit or quiet hours. You can still look at your portfolio and read old chats. If you need to talk to someone, tap Need to talk to someone?. That always works.

#Is TutorCat free?

Yes. Everything is free during the beta. Safety, consent, check-ins and your data are free on every plan, always.

#I forgot my password. What do I do?

On the sign-in screen, after a wrong try, tap Reset password. It opens an email to the TutorCat team. Ask a grown-up to help.

#Can I change my birthday or country?

Not in the app. Ask a grown-up to email support@tutorcat.ai.

#Can I change my curriculum?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Curriculum, pick a new one, and tap Save curriculum stream.

#The tutor is still replying and I can't send. Is it stuck?

Wait for the reply to finish. Then send your next message. Your words stay in the box. If it takes a long time, the reply may appear all at once.

#Can I use TutorCat in the dark?

Yes! Tap the sun or moon button on Home, or pick Dark in Settings, under Appearance.

#How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, then Delete account. It happens straight away and can't be undone. If you're under the consent age, your parent does it for you.
