Your chats
Find old conversations, start a new session, and rename a chat's subject.
Every question you ask becomes a chat. TutorCat keeps them, so you can go back to any of them later. After the first reply, TutorCat gives each chat a short title, like "Solving 3x + 7 = 22".
Open an old chat
On a computer: your chats are listed on the left of the Studio, under Chats. Each one shows its title, its subject and when you last used it. Tap one to open it.
On a phone or small tablet: tap the Chats button at the top of the Studio. A panel slides in.
- To find a chat, type in Search chats. You can search by title or subject.
- Chats are grouped into Today and Earlier.
- Tap a chat to open it.
- Tap Home at the bottom of the panel to go back to Home.
- 1: Find an old chat
- 2: Tap to open it
- 3: Start a new chat
Start a new session
Tap the + button, New session, next to Chats. You get a fresh Studio, ready for a new question.
Rename a chat's subject
When a chat is open, its subject sits in a coloured pill at the top, next to the title.
- Tap the subject pill.
- In Rename this subject, type a new name, like "Algebra" or "Spanish".
- Tap Save. Or tap Cancel to keep the old name.
- 1: Type a new name
- 2: Save it
Who can see my chats?
Your chats are saved. The line under the question box says it: "Sessions are saved. A linked parent can see them." A parent who has said yes to your account can read your chats.
There is one exception: when you tell us someone is hurting you. That stays private, to keep you safe. For other serious worries, like wanting to hurt yourself, a parent may be told so they can help. See "If you're worried or upset".
