Set up your profile
Check your details, then choose your curriculum, like IB, O-Level or A-Level, so TutorCat matches your school.
Right after you sign up, TutorCat asks a few quick questions. You will see a row of numbered dots at the top. They show how far along you are.
Step 1: Check your profile
TutorCat shows the details you just typed: your name, your country and your grade. Your grade is lit up. Under it, TutorCat tells you how it will talk to you, for example with words and examples for your age.
- Check that everything looks right.
- Tap Continue →.
- 1: Your grade
- 2: Looks right? Continue
For younger students (grades 3-5)
You will see "Hi" and your name, then What grade are you in? with big number tiles. Your grade is already picked. If a grown-up needs to say yes first, a colourful box tells you. Tap Next → to keep going.
- 1: Your grade
- 2: A grown-up says OK
- 3: Tap Next
Step 2: Choose your curriculum
A curriculum is the plan your school follows. TutorCat uses it to match your subjects, how grades are shown, and your milestones.
- Pick one card:
- Standard: national curriculum by grade.
- O-Level / IGCSE: Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA.
- A-Level: Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA.
- IB: PYP, MYP or Diploma.
- If you picked O-Level / IGCSE or A-Level, choose your exam board: Cambridge, Edexcel or AQA.
- If you picked IB, choose your programme: PYP, MYP or Diploma.
- Tap Continue →.
- 1: Pick your curriculum
- 2: Pick your programme
- 3: Tap Continue
If TutorCat asks where you live
Some older accounts were made before TutorCat asked for a country. If that is you, you will see Where do you live? first.
- Type in the Search countries box, or scroll the list.
- Tap your country.
- Tap Save country.
You can only set this once. To change it later, a grown-up needs to contact support.
What happens next
- If you don't need a parent's OK: you go straight to Home. You're ready!
- If a parent needs to say yes: TutorCat helps you ask them. See "Ask a parent to say yes".
