The Lesson Library is a shelf of whiteboard lessons that TutorCat has already made about common topics, like "The human heart" or "Adding fractions". They are made for your grade and your curriculum. Every lesson in the library is free, whatever your plan.

Explore the library

  1. Open Explore in the menu. The Lesson Library is the first thing on the page.
  2. Look through Popular this week (what lots of learners are watching) and New in the library.
  3. To find a topic, type in the search box. To see one subject only, tap its chip, like Physics.

You see lessons for your own grades first. To see lessons made for younger or older students, tap Show other grade bands.

Learn a lesson

  1. Tap a lesson. You see the whole board, so you can check it is what you want.
  2. Tap Learn this. TutorCat starts a new chat with the lesson in it, and plays it for you.
  3. Ask anything you like in the box underneath, like "Can you give me an example?". TutorCat answers just like in any other chat.

  2. 2: Make it your lesson
  3. 3: Was it helpful?

The lesson then stays in your chats and in My lessons, so you can find it again.

Library lessons in your chats

Sometimes you ask a question that lots of students ask, like "How does the heart work?". If the library already has a good lesson on it, TutorCat gives you that one. It starts straight away, with no wait. Under the board it says From the TutorCat Library.

If the library does not have that topic yet, TutorCat makes a new lesson for you. When it has passed every check, and a person on the TutorCat team has looked at it, it goes into the library too, so the next student who asks gets it straight away.

You still get a lesson made just for you when your question is about you or something special. For example:

  • a question about yourself, your family, your friends or how you feel,
  • a question with a special request, like "explain it using football",
  • a homework problem to work through,
  • a photo of your homework.

Was it helpful?

Under a library lesson you see Was this helpful? with 👍 and 👎. Tap one. Your answer stays lit up, and you can change it later. You get one vote for each lesson.

Your vote helps the TutorCat team find lessons that need fixing. Other students only ever see the totals, never who voted.
