The weekly digest email

A short email about your child's week. Choose the day it arrives, or turn it off, for each child.

Once a week, TutorCat emails you a short digest called Your TutorCat weekly digest. It's the easiest way to keep up without opening the app.

What's in it

For each child you get the digest for:

  • how many days they were active this week, how many minutes they spent learning, and their current streak
  • a line for each session summary from the week
  • Worth your attention: under any session where your child struggled
  • if there were no summarized sessions, a line saying so

For the full transcripts, open your parent home.

Choose the day, or turn it off

The digest is on by default and arrives on Mondays. You can change both for each child.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Choose the child, using Manage on their card if they aren't already open.
  3. Find Weekly digest ("About [name]'s week").
  4. To change the day, pick it from Email every.
  5. To stop the digest for this child, turn the switch off. Turn it back on any time.
The Weekly digest card in Settings, with the day picker and the on/off switch
  1. 1: Pick the day
  2. 2: Turn it on or off

Changes save straight away. If something goes wrong, you'll see "Couldn't save that just now. Your previous setting is unchanged."

When children have different days

Because there's one email a week, TutorCat waits for the latest day you've chosen across your children. For example, if Maya is set to Monday and Sam to Thursday, the email arrives on Thursday and covers both.

If you turn the digest off for every child, you won't get a digest at all.
