Wellbeing check-ins

Tell TutorCat how you feel and how confident you are about school, with an optional note.

On this page

  2. Who can see it
  3. If your note worries the safety check
  4. Your last 14 days
  5. For younger students (grades 3-5)

A check-in takes about 30 seconds. You tell TutorCat how you feel today and how confident you feel about school. Over time, you can see how your weeks have gone.

Do a check-in

  1. Open Wellbeing in the menu.
  2. Read the "Heads up" line at the top. It tells you who can see your check-in.
  3. How are you feeling today? Tap a face, from Rough to Great.
  4. How confident do you feel about school this week? Tap a number from 1 ("Not sure at all") to 5 ("Very confident").
  5. Anything you want to say? This note is optional. You can write up to 500 characters.
  6. Tap Save check-in.

  2. 2: Pick your mood
  3. 3: How confident you feel
  4. 4: An optional note
  5. 5: Save it

You see "Saved. Thanks" and "See you tomorrow."

Who can see it

  • A parent who has said yes to your account can see your mood, your confidence and your note.
  • Your note is checked by an automated safety system, so TutorCat can help if you need it.
  • Your check-in is never used for tutoring. The tutor doesn't read it, and it doesn't change your homework help.

If your note worries the safety check

If your note shows you might be having a hard time, TutorCat shows a kind message and free helplines right under the form. It doesn't hide it behind anything. Take your time to read it.

A kind message and helplines after a worried note
  1. 1: Support, right away
  2. 2: Free helplines

Your last 14 days

On the side, Last 14 days shows a little bar for each day you checked in. Taller bars mean a better mood. Below that are your latest check-ins with their notes. Tap Show all to see more.

For younger students (grades 3-5)

Your check-in is simpler and bigger:

  1. How are you feeling? Tap Great, Good, Okay or Not great.
  2. Was school easy or hard today? Tap Easy, Medium or Hard.
  3. Anything you want to say? This is optional. You can write about your day.
  4. Tap Done ✓.

A parent you've given consent to can see how you're feeling and your note. Nothing here is used for tutoring.
