Payments

The read-only payments ledger. Payments stay off for the whole beta.

  1. What you see during the beta
  2. After a paid launch

Payments are off during the beta. Nobody is charged, and there is no card to enter. Families get Family features free through the beta switch.

What you see during the beta

Payments during the beta, with the payments-off panel
  1. 1: Correct for the beta
  2. 2: Leave alone in beta
  3. 3: Empty until paid launch

A red panel at the top says No payments provider connected and Checkout, renewals and invoices are disabled. Family plan access is granted via invites only. This is the correct state for the beta. It shows whenever Payments open (payments_enabled) is off in Settings, even if payment keys are saved.

  • Connect provider takes you to the Stripe section of Settings. Do not change anything there during the beta.
  • The four figures read MRR, Paying families, Beta grants and Failed charges. During the beta they show — or 0.
  • The ledger says Transactions will appear here until a payment exists.

If the panel instead says Payments are in test mode, checkout is running against the provider's test environment and no real money moves.

After a paid launch

When payments are on, the page shows the ledger: every payment the provider reported, newest first.

Column Meaning
When When the payment was recorded.
Account The paying account's email. Empty if that account was erased.
Package The package and its interval.
Amount The amount and currency.
Status The provider's own word, for example paid, pending or failed.
Period ends When the paid period ends.
Reference The checkout reference, for looking it up at the provider.
  • Status (of loaded rows) filters the rows already loaded.
  • Failed charges counts failed, unpaid and past-due rows among the loaded rows.
  • Download CSV saves the ledger as a spreadsheet file.
  • Load older loads the next 50 rows.

The ledger is read-only. Refunds are made at the payment provider and arrive here automatically.
