Engagement

Sessions, active students, the sign-up funnel and how often students come back, as totals only.

On this page
  1. Choose a window
  2. What each part shows
  3. Using it in the beta

Engagement answers "are families using it?" Every figure is a count or a median. No figure on this page can identify a student or a parent.

The Engagement page with the window switch, figures, daily chart, funnel and active days
  1. 1: Pick 7, 30 or 90 days
  2. 2: Totals for the window
  3. 3: Active students per day
  4. 4: Sign-up to first homework
  5. 5: How often students return

Choose a window

Use the 7d, 30d and 90d buttons at the top right. Every figure and chart on the page follows the window, except the funnel, which always counts everything so far.

What each part shows

Part What it shows
Sessions (for example Sessions 30d) Tutoring sessions in the window.
Active students Students active in the last seven days out of all student accounts, with the weekly share as a percentage.
Median length The median session length. Not enough data when there are too few sessions to say.
Daily active students A bar for each day in the window, with the median per day in the corner. Hover or focus a bar for its exact count.
Funnel Registered accounts, Student profiles, Onboarded, Consent requested, Consent granted, First homework session. Each row shows the count and its share of registered accounts.
Active days per student, this window How many students were active on how many days. It shows whether students come back.

Below the cards:

  • A line with the median session length.
  • A note from the server when the window holds too little data to support a claim. It is shown exactly as sent; do not read more into small numbers than it allows.
  • Data table: open it to see sessions and active students for each day as plain numbers.

Using it in the beta

  • Families who signed up but never started. Compare Consent granted with First homework session in the funnel. A gap means families got stuck after consent. Message them (see the daily checklist), never look for their content.
  • Week-3 retention. The runbook's exit target is at least 70% of families active in week 3. Use the 7d window and the Active students card each week and write the figure in the weekly metrics row.
  • Stuck consent. A large gap between Consent requested and Consent granted can mean consent emails are not arriving. Check that Email says Sending on Overview.
