You can permanently delete your child's TutorCat account and everything under it. It's free on every plan, and it happens immediately once you confirm with your password. There's no waiting period, and nobody (including TutorCat) can bring it back.

Steps

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Open the child's card. Use Manage if it isn't already open.
  3. At the bottom of the card, find Delete [name]'s data.
  4. Choose Delete [name]'s data…. The card now lists exactly what will go.
  5. Type your child's name, exactly as shown, into Type [name] to confirm. Capital letters don't matter.
  6. Enter Your password: your own parent password, not your child's.
  7. Choose Delete [name]'s data. The button only works once the name matches and the password is filled in.
  8. Changed your mind? Choose Cancel. Nothing is deleted.

What is deleted

  • your child's account and sign-in
  • every homework conversation, question, photo and answer
  • session summaries, check-ins and wellbeing notes
  • progress, streaks, lessons and screen-time settings
  • consent records and links to every parent, including any other parent

What stays

  • Your own account. Only your child's data goes.
  • A record that a deletion happened, with no name or content in it.

Things to know before you delete

  • It affects the other parent too. If two parents are linked, deleting removes the child for both of you. It may be worth talking to them first.
  • You can delete after withdrawing consent. A child you withdrew consent for still shows on your home page and in Settings, marked Consent withdrawn, with only this delete option.
  • If your child is younger than the consent age, they can't delete their own account. If they try, TutorCat tells them to ask you, and points them to this option.
  • If a session is in progress, it stops quietly when the account is deleted.
